About SLCMP

The Sri Lanka College of Medical Physics (SLCMP) is the leading professional body dedicated to advancing the field of Medical Physics in Sri Lanka. Our mission is to ensure the safe and effective use of radiation and technology in healthcare through education, certification, research, and professional excellence.

SLCMP brings together medical physicists working across diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and nuclear medicine, creating a strong community that upholds the highest standards of clinical practice, ethics, and innovation.

Medical Physics Council Initiative

To strengthen quality assurance and professional standards, the College is in the process of establishing a Medical Physics Council, which will serve as the national authority for the certification and accreditation of Medical Physicists and training programs in Sri Lanka. This initiative will help align local practices with international benchmarks and promote the development of a skilled, recognized, and regulated medical physics workforce.

Through continuous education, research promotion, and international collaboration, SLCMP strives to build a future where medical physics plays a central role in improving patient care, radiation safety, and healthcare technology management across the country.
